The objective of this course to introduce students to language theory and use. The purpose of this course to provide students with solid knowledge of the basic linguist terms and principles, to give them an overview of the structural disciplines of linguistics and to enable them to practically apply these principles to the study and teaching of the English language. The course is run on a weekly basis. The first part of each session explains the basic concepts of the topics and during the second part of each session homework assignments and their solutions are discussed.
